Beer Below Zero Marks Its First Year

Manila, Philippines (May 21, 2009) - Once upon a time there were three drinking buddies who were really fond of super cold beers. In their quest to quench their thirst for the “perfect beer”, they found themselves conducting experiments like little boys. From a simple science experiment and countless broken bottles of beer, they finally found the formula for the “perfect beer”. This marks the birth of their brainchild, BEER BELOW ZERO.
12 months later, from a single outlet with an investment of 2 freezers and 2 “Beertenders” (their term for their staff dispatching the beers), they are now operating more than 80 outlets nationwide, have deployed more than 100 freezers and a battalion of Beertenders. Too good to be true…….or too COLD to be true? Sounds like a fairytale or one of those one hit wonders? We don’t know. All we know is that Beer Below Zero has made a mark in the history books of beer not only in the Philippines but globally.
The beer connoisseurs or the “Icemen” Luigi Nunez, Vinson Co Say and Jay-Jay Angala, as they are fondly called, have inspired a lot of aspiring entrepreneurs to take a chance and believe in their dreams. These three friends are living their dreams – having the “perfect beer” and getting to drink it too. The three have remained grounded in spite of the overflowing demand for their product. We still treat every new outlet as if it were our first.
We still do outlet checks to ensure that our product is consistent. In a cut-throat environment where we live in, competition is inevitable. We are more than prepared and ready for them. They will come in droves, from big companies to simple businessmen. A lot of people have seen the potential and we’re pretty sure competition will come soon. We are just lucky that our brand “BEER BELOW ZERO” has gained enough equity for it to be synonymous to the coldest beer you’ll ever drink…….served just above freezing point. As much as we’d like people to call it BEER BELOW ZERO, some refer to it as BBZ, Below Zero, Zero or even Tisay or Amag (because of the white layer of frost that coats the bottle as it is dispatched from the freezer).
The three amigos were ecstatic to celebrate their first year anniversary, dubbed as “Beer Below Zero turns one…..we’re a year COLDER!” They have managed to inject creativity, innovation, and of course humor in everything that they do. They can be funny and witty people but very serious and seasoned businessmen. We know our brand and we believe in it. We hope people would believe in it too. Competition is healthy for the business. It gives you more chances to shine or the same chances to flop. It’s what aces you have hidden in your sleeves that are important.

So what can loyal friends of Beer Below Zero expect from the Icemen this coming year????? Well, more out of the box ideas. Of course BBZ will still be the main attraction but watch out for more fairytale stories from the three amigos!
